citizens arrest

If I could arrest people or at least give someone a hefty fine it would be for those who park in handicap parking spots and who do not have a handicap placard. Handicap spaces were made to assist people with legit disabilities to help them get around in this walking world. Handicap parking spots were not created for the lazy or selfish, people that are so stuck on themselves that they can't walk the extra 30 feet.

This blog post is specifically written to the owner of the Dodge Whoopty parked in the van accessible handicap parking spot in front of Country Club Bowling Lanes on Watt and El Camino. You know who you are.

i guess you left that portion of your day out...shame shame whoever you are! isn't it funny that we get this whole new perspective when working with people with "legit disabilities?"

...not only that, there's a difference between "parking only" and "van accessible parking only." i would not have known that if i weren't here in IA.

i couldn't agree more. here, if (big IF) there is a "handicapped" parking spot it it may be used by either the physically disabled, or, according to the picture on the little blue sign, the HUGELY pregnant - which i'm okay with.

I SO AGREE!!
I am still laughing about 2 things: the fact that Mr. Whoopty responded first with an apology, and the fact that there is a street called El Camino!!!
But RIGHT ON to this post!

You go, Britany! What surprises me is how many people responded to this particular blog. You hit a real nerve!

two of the comment leavers are co-workers who face this sorta thing on a daily basis. you would never know how much it happens unless you are put in the situation of having a person in a wheelchair in your van with a side loading ramp in which you can only park in a van accessible spot.

another time i was working and went to lunch at wendy's. i had a van with a side loading ramp. the van accessible spot was open but i couldn't take it because some jerko parked their whoopty not in the parking spot but in marked off space that said no parking where i was to let the ramp down wheel my consumer out of the van.

sorry i am ranting and when i rant my grammar goes down the crapper. i'll stop now.
